 My Story

My name is Emma Watson.  From an early age I became interested in Science, most specifically human biology and biochemistry.  I therefore undertook my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2002.  However, during my teenage years, I also became fascinated by religion, philosophy and spirituality; things that science could not explain.  I have two GCSEs in religion and an A-level in Philosophy and started yoga classes when I was 15 years old.

Through my undergraduate degree I discovered an interest in clinical nutrition and went on to study for my post graduate diploma in dietetics at Leeds Metropolitan University (as it was known back then) and started my career as a registered dietitian in large teaching hospital in the north east of England in 2008.

My career in dietetics has allowed me to work with people suffering with a number of clinical conditions; from spinal cord injuries, to diabetes, to cancer.

My interest in all things fitness, spiritual and "woo" remained and I completed my certificate in group exercise instruction & exercise to music, then went on to complete a Foundation course and 300 hour teaching diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga.

Throughout my life I have struggled with chronic illness, namely endometriosis and IBS.  I have also experienced depression, weight gain, a complicated pregnancy & delivery, stress, trauma and anxiety.

I have discovered, from experimenting with my own health, and from working with dietetic patients and yoga students, the importance of taking a holistic approach to health. Combining strategies to improve nutrition, movement and mindset often gives the best results. I am also very much aware of how the pressures of modern life can impact upon our ability to make changes and prioritise our own health (I am a Mum, with a job with the NHS trying to run a business - I get it!)

My passion is to help as many people as possible in my own way, in my own time with the skills I have learnt over the years.  However, there are only so many hours in a day & I am therefore not able to help you all, which is why I have started to develop digital resources that combine my expertise as a dietitian with my knowledge of yoga, fitness and lifestyle strategies.

Integrity is a value that I place significant emphasis upon and I strive to ensure that my resources are evidence-based and aligned with UK guidance and the best research evidence available.

The resources vary in price and complexity.  Get in-touch to find out what may work best for you.

Namaste
